West Ham United won against Everton in the Premier League at the weekend.
Former Rangers and Southampton winger Neil McCann has told Sky Sports that West Ham United’s stunning win against Everton at the weekend showed their character.
West Ham came from two goals down to get the better of 10-man Everton 3-2 away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
The London outfit scored all three goals in the final 12 minutes of the encounter through Michail Antonio, Diafro Sakho and Dimitri Payet.
McCann has graded the Hammers’ performance against the Toffees as ‘A’ and has spoken highly of their character.
“They were fantastic,” the former Rangers winger told Sky Sports. “I know they had an extra man, but as every footballer and pundit will tell you, it’s difficult playing against ten men because you expect them to sit in.
“Everton actually didn’t – they could have scored and put the game to bed – but for West Ham to comeback showed lots of character.
“When they have a guy like Dimitri Payet up top – who’s been a sensation this season – to snatch a 3-2 victory in what has been a fantastic season for them is great.”
The way West Ham came back and put pressure on Everton in the final 15 or so minutes of the game showed how much determination and hunger the players have.
Goodison Park is not an easy place to win at, and Slaven Bilic’s side had to work hard to pick up the three points.
West Ham will now hope to kick on and push for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season.
