Kris Boyd has asked an interesting question regarding Rangers and Celtic in The Scottish Sun.
The former Rangers striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has asked whether Celtic would help Rangers financially or if the Gers would help the Hoops.
Boyd made the comments while praising German football, and outlining how Bayern Munich financially helped their Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund a few years ago.
Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Germany is a superpower, not just in football terms, but also in how a society should be run.
“Everyone works together for the greater good. I mean, look at what happened with Borussia Dortmund a few years back.
“Struggling to survive and in very real danger of going out of business, they were bailed out by their biggest rivals Bayern Munich. Why? Because they recognised they needed Dortmund.
“Can you imagine Celtic offering financial assistance to Rangers? Or vice versa? Scottish football is short-sighted. It always has been. No one ever seems willing to look at the bigger picture.”

Meanwhile, former Rangers midfielder Alex Rae has claimed that there will be an asterisk against Celtic’s title this season, if they are handed the championship without actually winning it on the pitch.
The Scottish Premiership is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis, and it is not clear if and when the season will resume.
Celtic are currently as many as 13 points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers at the top of the league table.
However, Steven Gerrard’s side have a game in hand, and there are also two Old Firm derbies left to be played this campaign.
The Hoops have won the league title in Scotland for the past eight seasons in succession, and will be favourites to make it nine in a row when the campaign gets back underway.
The Daily Record quotes Rae as saying: “Everybody tries to say we are worse off than the others. Celtic will get the title in the coming weeks I’m certain of that.
“Kevin, as you rightly say there, most teams would like to play it in front and actually won it mathematically and they won’t get the opportunity to do that by the looks of things.
“And there will always be that question mark from opposition fans. Celtic fans won’t mind if it is an asterisk beside it or not.”
