Everton are currently in the midst of a poor run of form.
Speaking live on Sky Sports’ programme Nissan Super Sunday at 12:35, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was highly critical of Everton’s recent displays, and questioned whether the squad as a whole is too old to compete at the intensity Ronald Koeman expects of them, or if they are just purely lazy.
Despite starting their 2016/17 Premier League campaign in fine fashion, the Toffees have since fallen off the boil, and have taken just six points from their last eight league outings.

Many of Koeman’s players have been questioned for what pundits and fans have perceived as a lack of effort, and Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports’ Nissan Super Sunday, explained how their recent dip in form could be down to two factors:
“You look at the age profile of the team, that is something that has got to change over the next two or three years under Ronald Koeman in transfer windows – the team’s too old. Then you look at it and you think, ‘Is the team not covering the ground in games because they’re too old or basically some of them are lazy. Look at Lukaku, he’s not too old and look at Diego Costa yesterday, the difference, and he gets goals.”

The Merseyside outfit face a crucial month ahead of them in the Premier League, that could potentially define their season, with games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester City on the horizon.
And with the January transfer window just around the corner, much will be expected of Koeman, with the club’s fans craving heavy investment in the playing staff to help them realise their undoubted potential.
