Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been given permission to discuss a late move back to former club Nice.
Hugo Lloris could be poised for an emotional departure from Tottenham Hotspur with Nice now making a move.
That is according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, who has been speaking live on air tonight.
Bridge claims that Lloris is one player who could potentially leave Tottenham in the final stages of the transfer window.
It’s stated that even at this ‘very late hour’, Lloris has now been given permission to hold talks with Nice.
Lloris is from Nice and started his career there before leaving for Lyon back in 2008.
Nice have tonight announced that they have ripped up the contract of veteran stopper Kasper Schmeichel.
There is a clear opening there for an experienced goalkeeper to replace Schmeichel and Lloris could be the man.
Bridge claims that Lloris is mulling over a move to Nice and Tottenham will now allow him to leave for nothing.
“One potential player who could still be on his way out at this very late hour, and that’s someone who has been at this football club… Hugo Lloris, he’s been at Tottenham Hotspur for 11 years, Spurs have allowed him to speak to Nice,” said Bridge. “The club he started his career at, he played 72 games, so he’s mulling over an offer there. He has a year left but I’m told that Spurs will allow him to go on a free transfer,” he added.

Hugo Lloris should jump at Tottenham exit chance
The time has come for Lloris to leave Tottenham.
The Frenchman joined Tottenham from Lyon for £12million back in 2012 and has been the club’s first-choice stopper ever since.
Lloris has now racked up nearly 450 Premier League appearances for Tottenham but the time has come for his departure.

Lloris has looked like a shadow of his former self in recent seasons and particularly struggled last season.
Lloris clearly has no role to play under Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham have already signed a new goalkeeper in Guglielmo Vicario.
The best step is for Lloris to move on and what an emotional switch it would be for him to return to Nice after 15 years away.
There isn’t a lot of time to get this deal done but it’s the kind of move Lloris would be looking to get sorted.
