Tottenham Hotspur fans are desperate for their club to win a trophy.
Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness spoke on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, at 10:13am of Thursday October 26th, and responded to a question asking him if Mauricio Pochettino is capable of guiding his side to a major trophy.
The Argentine has earned plaudits from fans and pundits alike for the manner in which he has galvanised Tottenham into perennial title contenders since his appointment as manager in May 2014, but he is still yet to win a major trophy.
Despite the Carabao Cup’s diminishing reputation, the Lilywhites would have looked at it as a trophy that they could win, especially after being 2-0 up at half-time at home to West Ham yesterday.
The Hammers fought back though, and went on to win the game 3-2, dumping Spurs out of the competition in the process.
And Souness, who began his playing career at Tottenham, insisted that Pochettino is capable of leading his side to success, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily show:
“He’s doing a good job, all the players seem happy, and with a little amount of luck, they will win a trophy. They’ve got a chance.”

Next up for the north London outfit is a trip to Old Trafford on Saturday to take on Manchester United in the Premier League, and they will be desperate to bounce back from last night’s defeat with a victory against one of their main challengers for the title.
