Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Danny Higginbotham and Phil Thompson have both suggested that they would prefer Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their team over Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane at this moment in time, on Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 9th December.

Both Kane and Ibrahimovic have been in excellent form throughout the campaign so far.

Kane has netted eight goals in his last seven matches, since coming back from injury, while Ibrahimovic has scored 13 times for United since signing last summer.

The pair both play vital roles for their respective sides, but Higginbotham and Thompson feel that Ibrahimovic has slightly more quality.

“That’s a tough one! I think when you look at what you offer for the team, you have to say Ibrahimovic,” Higginbotham said, when asked who he’d rather have out of Kane and Ibrahimovic. “He is putting the chances away. I just think Ibrahimovic is more important to United.”

Thompson agreed with his fellow pundit, saying: “When you look at where he is at the minute, I think Ibrahimovic is ahead of Kane. I like Kane and he works a lot harder but does that make him a better player? Unfortunately not.”

Kane and Ibrahimovic are set to go head-to-head this weekend, when Tottenham meet Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Spurs and United are due to meet each other on Sunday, in a match which looks crucial for both side’s Champions League hopes.

If Tottenham are able to beat United, they could move into the top four and they would put nine points between themselves and Jose Mourinho’s men.

However, a win for the Red Devils would put them back into the thick of the race for a Champions League qualification spot.
