Andy Walker has given a dim view on Rangers’ imminent appointment of Pedro Caixinha.

Pundit Andy Walker has told Sky Sports News (07/03/2017) that Rangers-bound manager Pedro Caixinha will quickly realise the enormous demands at Ibrox.
The Gers have been in the market for a new manager for almost a month now having seen Mark Warburton leave the club in February.
Rangers have been taking their time in their pursuit of a new boss, and whilst names such as Alex McLeish, Derek McInnes and Gary Rowett have all been suggested for the job, Rangers appear to be taking a more left-field approach.
Portuguese boss Pedro Caixinha, currently in charge of Qatari side Al-Gharafa, has been the favourite for the job for the last week, and now looks to be closing in on the job.
Sky Sports report that Caixinha is just waiting for Al-Gharafa’s president to approve his exit, and he will then board a flight to Glasgow and put the finishing touches on his move to Ibrox.
A former Celtic scout, the 46-year-old has only ever managed Uniao Leiria, Nacional and Mexican side Santos Laguna, but had a lengthy spell as an assistant manager to compatriot Jose Peseiro.

His move is something of a surprise, and isn’t exactly being approved by everybody, with pundit and former Celtic striker Andy Walker less than impressed.
Walker told Sky Sports News (07/03/2017) that he thinks Caixinha’s career has been ‘unremarkable’ to date, and he will quickly realise that the demands at Ibrox are ‘enormous’ as they won’t accept small steps – they will want ‘giant leaps’ in their bid to chase Celtic at the top of the table.
“He has no experience of the British game,” said Walker. “He’s had an unremarkable coaching career. He’s a bit fresh and if he’s in place by the weekend he’ll be blown away by the atmosphere he’ll encounter at Celtic.”
“He will realise that the demands at Rangers are enormous. While most clubs would take small steps to get back, Rangers want to take giant leaps,” he added.
