Andy Hinchcliffe was a guest this morning on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, and offered high words of praise for Wolves ace Ruben Neves, labelling him as the Championship’s best player.

The Black Country outfit have been sensational so far this season, and currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, four points clear of second placed Cardiff City.

And Neves has played a major role in his side’s magnificent campaign thus far.

The 20-year-old moved to Molineux from Porto in the summer, for a fee that could eventually rise to £17 million, and he has impressed every time he has taken to the pitch, appearing in all but one of Wolves’ 22 Championship outings to date.

Hinchcliffe highlighted the Portuguese’s quality as something that cannot be matched by many players in England’s second tier, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme today at 11:55 am:

“I wondered if he would be able to handle the pressure of being the Championship’s most expensive player, but he has emphatically answered that question. He is absolutely class. The goal where he passed the ball into the net against Sheffield Wednesday, there are not many players in the Championship who could have done that.”

Wolves are well on track to earning promotion to the Premier League this season, and if they do go on to do just that, the money they spent on Neves will begin to look like an incredibly shrewd piece of business.
