Daryl Murphy joined Newcastle United from Championship rivals Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window.

Former Middlesbrough winger Peter Beagrie has told Sky Sports that Daryl Murphy will prove to be a success at Newcastle United.
Murphy joined Newcastle from Championship rivals Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window.
Beagrie has backed the Magpies’ decision to recruit the 33-year-old former Celtic player, who can play as a striker or as a winger.
The former Everton and Manchester City winger believes that Murphy would combine well with striker Dwight Gayle.

Gayle also joined Newcastle in the summer transfer window, moving from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.
“Murphy is a bit of an unsung hero and for the last couple of seasons under Mick McCarthy he has been incredible,” Beagrie told Sky Sports. “He has added goals to his work-rate and his attitude is great as well.
“He used to run out wide too often for me, but he stays central now and it could be a great combination with Dwight Gayle. He will flourish at Newcastle.”

Murphy created six chances in four Championship appearances for Ipswich this season before his move to Newcastle.
During the 2015-16 campaign, the former Sunderland attacker scored 10 goals and created 44 chances in 33 league games for the Tractor Boys.
Gayle has scored four goals and created two chances in four Championship games for Newcastle so far this season.
Newcastle will return to action this coming weekend when they take on Derby County away from home at the iPro Stadium in the Championship.
