Former Liverpool star Thompson was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of the Netherlands international.

“Janssen is an out and out centre-forward, puts himself about, absolutely challenges for everything, maybe has not got the best skills in the world, but he certainly did alright,” said Thompson on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, August 20, 2016) after the match.
