Leeds United are set to take on Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow evening.

Peter Beagrie has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 8th December, that he does not believe Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United will be taking each other on in the Premier League next season.

Brighton and Leeds are due to face each other tomorrow evening at the AMEX Stadium, in what looks like an intriguing match.

Brighton will move to the top of the Championship table, if they are able to get a win, leapfrogging Newcastle in the process.

If Leeds could win the tie, however, the Whites would close the gap on the automatic promotion spaces to just four points.

Brighton and Leeds both have genuine hopes of being promotion this season, but Beagrie has suggested that the pair could fall short.

“I very much doubt it. I don’t think the pair of them will get up there,” the pundit said, when asked if Brighton would be taking on Leeds in the Premier League next season.

Brighton’s strong start to the campaign was widely expected, as they performed so well in the Championship last term.

However, Leeds have surpassed expectations and currently sit in fourth place in the second tier standings.

Beagrie now hopes that Leeds back Garry Monk with funds to go out and further strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.

“I hope that they back him in the transfer window, because from a position of strength that is what needs to happen,” he added.
