Brentford play host to Aston Villa in the Championship on Boxing Day.

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton predicted the outcome of Brentford’s Championship clash with Aston Villa on Boxing Day, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.
The Bees are currently in the midst of a sticky patch of form, having won just two of their last seven league outings, and sit in 12th position in the Championship table.
Villa, meanwhile, have been equally poor of late, and are winless in their last four games.

Steve Bruce’s men sit in sixth spot in the table, and will be desperate for all three points, in the hope of keeping the pressure up on those above them in the table.
Prutton wrote his regular prediction column for Sky Sports, and explained why he envisages a tight encounter at Griffin Park on Tuesday:

“Aston Villa went to Griffin Park earlier this year and got absolutely turned over by Brentford, who put in a brilliant performance to win 3-0. There have been plenty of changes at both clubs since, however, and you’d expect this to be a very different game. The Bees got a great win at Norwich on Friday night and have had nearly 24 extra hours to prepare for this one, but Villa are a tougher nut to crack now so I’ll back a draw here.”
Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Aston Villa
The hosts can climb as high as 11th in the table with a win on Boxing Day, whilst the visitors can jump up to fifth with a victory in west London, should results elsewhere go their way of course.
The game kicks off at 19:30, and can be seen exclusively live on Sky Sports.
