Reading and Newcastle United will face each other in the Championship on Tuesday evening.
Former Nottingham Forest and Leeds United midfielder David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Newcastle United will win against Reading on Tuesday evening.
Newcastle will take on Reading away from home at the Madejski Stadium in the Championship in a few hours’ time.
“I tipped Brighton to beat Newcastle and Newcastle won,” Prutton told Sky Sports. “I tipped Huddersfield to beat Newcastle and Newcastle won. Sorry Toon fans, I’m tipping Newcastle this time as they look like champions.
“They don’t need to have the ball to win matches – they had 24 per cent possession but still won 3-1 at Huddersfield. Rafa’s team are very comfortable without the ball and allowing the opposition to dominate the ball.
“Mo Diame and Jonjo Shelvey interchange very well in the central position, which makes it hard for the opposition. It’s games like this at this time of the season where champions win.”
A footnote added: “Prutton predicts: 0-1.”
Reading are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 63 points from 35 matches.
The Royals will head into the match against Newcastle on the back of a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Madejski Stadium in the league.
Jaap Stam’s side are going strong in the Championship at the moment and could end up in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Newcastle currently find themselves at the top of the league table with 76 points from 35 matches.
Rafael Benitez’s side are five points clear of second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion and are favourites to clinch the title.
The Magpies will head into the match against Reading this evening on the back of a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town away from home at the John Smith’s Stadium in the league.
