Former Celtic and Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas has predicted on Skysports.com that Leeds United will lose to Leicester City this week.

Championship club Leeds will take on Premier League outfit Leicester away from home at the King Power Stadium in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.

Nicholas believes that the West Yorkshire outfit will force the tie into extra time, but the former Scotland international forward does not expect them to go all the way.

“Leeds are going well in general with their manager Thomas Christiansen doing a good job,” Nicholas wrote on Skysports.com.

“I could see them taking Leicester to extra-time but I think the Foxes ultimately have the quality to come through.”

A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: Leicester to win in extra-time.”

Leicester are in the Premier League and enjoyed a morale-boosting win at the weekend.

The Foxes may not consider the EFL Cup as something major, but the former Premier League champions will want to win the tie on Tuesday evening in order to create momentum.

Playing at home is also going to give Leicester an advantage, and they will head into the tie as favourites.

Leeds, though, are a good team and are aspiring to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Thomas Christiansen’s side returned to winning ways in the Championship at the weekend, getting the better of Bristol City 3-0 away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium.
