Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United will face each other in the Championship on Wednesday.

Former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder David Prutton has predicted on Skysports.com that Leeds United will win against Blackburn Rovers this week.

Paul Merson says Philippe Coutinho not as good as Eden Hazard

Leeds will take on Blackburn away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

Prutton believes that the Whites will pick up all three points from the encounter.

“It’s a similar situation to Newcastle for Leeds, getting beat in the FA Cup having made lots of changes,” former Leeds midfielder Prutton wrote on Skysports.com.

“Maybe it was a way for Garry Monk to show the powers that be that they need some more strength in depth as we head to Deadline Day.

“Monk took full responsibility after the loss, but I’m sure he would have told his players in no uncertain terms what is expected of them, and that it wasn’t anywhere near good enough. But I still see Leeds winning this.”

A footnote added: “PRUTTON PREDICTS: 1-2.”

Leeds will head into the match against Blackburn on the back of a 1-0 defeat to National League outfit Sutton United away from home at the Borough Sports Ground in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Head coach Garry Monk made a number of changes to the starting lineup, and the West Yorkshire outfit paid the price.

One suspects that Monk will field his best available team against Blackburn away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

Rovers are struggling at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.

Owen Coyle’s side are currently second in the league table with 25 points from 27 games.
