Arsenal welcome Southampton to North London on the weekend.
Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that he expects Arsenal to cruise past Southampton when the Saints visit the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal go into the contest on something of a high after beating Watford 3-1 last time out for what was their first Premier League win of the season.
Furthermore, Arsene Wenger spent over £50 million in the final days of the summer transfer window by bringing in Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi.
Southampton, on the other hand, visit the capital aiming for a first win under manager Claude Puel – who replaced Ronald Koeman in the summer – but Nicholas believes that wait will go on beyond the weekend, tipping the Gunners for a “comfortable victory”.
“Southampton upset them with their tactics under Ronald Koeman last season but I’ve done them twice so far and they look a bit all over the place,” he told Sky Sports.
“They’re taking a while to adjust to the new manager and Claude Puel hasn’t had much time to work with them due to the international break, so I can’t see a sudden upturn in form.
“In contrast, there were positives for a few Arsenal players on international duty and I’m confident of this being a comfortable victory.”
Puel, who had never managed outside of France before taking the Southampton job, played under Wenger at Monaco, giving him some insight into how the veteran French manager operates.
