Arsenal will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Charlie Nicholas - Arsenal

Former Celtic forward Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that Arsenal will win against Paris Saint-Germain at home this week.

Arsenal will take on PSG at the Emirates Stadium in Champions League Group A on Wednesday evening.

Nicholas has backed the Gunners to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 victory.

The former Arsenal forward has also predicted France international striker Olivier Giroud to score first.

“PSG cannot play for the goalless draw so you expect them to come out and attack, and Edinson Cavani will be dangerous again on the break,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “Mesut Ozil disappointed me immensely at Old Trafford but I still expect him to deliver here.

“I think Olivier Giroud deserves to start in the team but does Alexis Sanchez get a rest or does Theo Walcott drop out now? I would like Sanchez to start and to be closer to Giroud.”

A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: 3-1 and Giroud to score first – 60/1 with Sky Bet.”

Arsenal are at the top of Champions League Group A with 10 points from four matches.

The Gunners are level on points with PSG, who are currently second in the standings due to an inferior goal difference.

Playing at home will give the North London outfit an advantage, and it is hard to see Arsene Wenger’s side suffer a defeat.

Arsenal should be able to pick up at least a point from the encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners will head into the match against PSG on the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
