Matt Le Tissier says that Sunderland’s main problem is in midfield.
Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that Sunderland’s main problem is in midfield.
The former England international attacking midfielder has suggested that Sunderland need to add players in the midfield department.
“I think Sunderland’s main problem is in midfield,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports. “There are a lot of players there that aren’t really cutting it and they need strengthening.”

Sunderland are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Black Cats are currently third in the standings with just 15 points from 20 matches. David Moyes’s side are only a point behind 17th-placed Crystal Palace and have to start picking up points.

Midfield is an issue for Sunderland, and the Black Cats should address that in the January transfer window. The problem is that the Premier League outfit could struggle to find a quality midfield player.
After all, not many footballers would be willing to join a team struggling for survival in the Premier League.
Sunderland will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Premier League rivals Burnley at the Stadium of Light in the third round of the FA Cup.
