Leeds United’s 2016-17 Championship campaign has not been great so far.

David Prutton said on the EFL Weekly show on Sky Sports that Leeds United head coach Garry Monk is intelligent enough to know that speculation on his future will always be there.
Leeds have not made a good start to the 2016-17 Championship campaign and are just two points above the relegation zone at the moment.
The West Yorkshire outfit returned to winning ways in the Championship on Tuesday evening when they got the better of Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Elland Road.

The Whites will take on struggling Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the league on Saturday afternoon.
Former Leeds midfielder Prutton believes that Monk will know that his future at Elland Road will be under threat as long as Massimo Cellino is the club chairman.
“I think from Garry’s point of view, he would be sick of this speculation what effect the owner has on the place on a day-to-day basis, probably sick of being something where he wants to talk about football and what he could possibly be getting better from the players or getting right from the players,” said Prutton on the EFL Weekly show on Sky Sports.
“I think he is more than intelligent enough to know that will always be, as long as he is the owner, that will always be part of the narrative of the Leeds United manager.”

Monk is a very good and talented young manager, but it has to be said that Leeds’s season so far has been hugely disappointing.
The Whites are expected to be striving for a top-six finish in the Championship this season, not fighting for survival.
