Arsenal won against Southampton in the Premier League at the weekend.

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson gave his verdict on the performance of Shkodran Mustafi for Arsenal against Southampton on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, September 10, 2016).
Mustafi featured for Arsenal in the Premier League game against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Saturday afternoon.
The 24-year-old central defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
It was the Germany international’s competitive debut for the Gunners, having joined Arsenal from Spanish club Valencia in the summer transfer window.

Lucas Perez also featured for the Gunners on Saturday afternoon, starting the game and playing for 62 minutes.
It was the 28-year-old forward’s competitive debut for the North London outfit as well, having switched to Arsene Wenger’s side from La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna in the summer transfer window.
Former Liverpool defender Thompson was following the match, and he gave his verdict on the performances of Mustafi and Perez against Southampton.

“He actually gets an assist for the penalty kick because it was his dink into the box. After a nervous five or 10 minutes, he did alright.”
“He didn’t have that much to do,” added Thompson on Perez’s performance.
Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain away from home in France in the Champions League Group A on Tuesday evening.
