Sky Sports pundit names two key Tottenham players against Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City will face each other in the Premier League this weekend.

Former Manchester United and Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham has told Sky Sports that the Tottenham Hotspur full-backs will be key in the match against Manchester City this weekend.

Tottenham will face City at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Walker is likely to start the game for Tottenham at right-back, while fellow England international Danny Rose should feature at left-back.

Higginbotham, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has stated that Walker and Rose will be the key players during the game.

“I think the two full-backs Rose and Walker are going to be key,” Higginbotham told Sky Sports while going on to explain how City use their wide players.

“To turn it around and look at how Tottenham can get the best out of that situation, what Manchester City will do is they will leave space down the sides,” added Higginbotham.

“So as much as I think Rose and Walker are going to be important defending-wise, they’re also going to be so important attacking-wise.

“The key will be setting up defensively so that the full-backs can get forward without any fear of the counter-attack.”

Both Tottenham and City are attack-minded sides, and Sunday’s encounter in North London promises to be a hugely entertaining one.

It should be an exciting tactical battle between two sides who play high-pressing football.

The first goal will be key. If Tottenham open the scoring, then it is hard to see them drop all three points.

Just as Celtic did against City at Celtic Park in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, Spurs need to start brightly and take the game to Pep Guardiola’s side.
