Liverpool star Adam Lallana and Manchester City youngster Raheem Sterling could feature for England against Scotland this evening.
Former Celtic and Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that Scotland will lose to England this evening.
Scotland will take on England away from home at the Wembley Stadium in London in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group F game.
Nicholas has backed the Three Lions to win the match, and has also named two players he fears the most.
The former Scotland international forward has named Liverpool attacking midfielder Adam Lallana and Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling as key players for England.
Lallana is one of the best players in the Liverpool squad and has been in good form so far this season.
The 28-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, has scored three goals and created 13 chances in 11 Premier League matches for Liverpool so far this campaign.
Sterling, who is just 21 years of age and can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, has scored four goals and created 11 chances in 10 Premier League games for City so far this season.
“Everyone is saying England aren’t very good but they are good, they’re just not a great side,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling are the two that concern me the most as a Scot. Sterling is the player who can really open us up with his pace.
“I don’t think a draw does Scotland much good, whereas a win gets us back in the mix. I’d rather get beaten 3-1 than lose 1-0 defending, although it’s easy for me to say that. As underdogs we will fight and scrap but I’d like to see us have an attacking method as well.
“I do expect England to win. I’m a realistic sort of guy and in my mind I expect England to win this by at least two goals.
A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: 3-1 and Sterling to score first.”
England are at the top of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group F with seven points from three matches, two points clear of second-placed Lithuania.
Scotland are currently fourth in the group with four points from three games.
