Newcastle United play host to Rotherham United in the Championship at 15:00 tomorrow.

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton predicted the outcome of tomorrow’s Championship game between Newcastle United and Rotherham United at St James’ Park, when making his weekly predictions for Sky Sports:

The Magpies have been on an inconsistent run of late, but seem to have returned to their best over recent weeks, despite being in the midst of an injury crisis, and currently hold a one point advantage at the top of the Championship table.

And although many feel that tomorrow’s match against the Millers will be a formality, no game is ever easy in the Championship, and the visitors will be fighting for their lives.

And Prutton echoed those sentiments, when making his weekly Championship predictions for Sky Sports:

“A wonderful result against Norwich suggests there maybe life in Rotherham yet with regards to their Championship status. But I just think that Newcastle, who have got Jonjo Shelvey back – they have missed him dearly. You get the feeling he will have the bit between his teeth and will have a point to prove and I think Rotherham will be the first team to get a taste of that.”

Prediction: Newcastle United 2-1 Rotherham United

Rafa Benitez will now be expecting his side to really push on, and cement their place at the top of the table, with five of their next seven league games coming at St James’ Park, before they travel the south coast for the big one – Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.

And three points for Newcastle tomorrow, although expected, will be a great way to start that run of games.
