Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping that their club bring in some fresh faces this month.
Danny Mills was a guest on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme on Wednesday January 24th, and responded to a question asking him what Spurs need to do during this month’s transfer window if they are to really kick on under Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, two points adrift of fourth placed Liverpool, and despite showing glimpses of their best football, they have struggled for consistency this season.
The Lilywhites were fairly active during the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and Davinson Sanchez, but their fans still crave further additions in the hope of their club achieving glory this season.
Whether Pochettino will be backed with adequate funds with which to strengthen his options remains to be seen, however.
Mills explained how difficult it will be for the Argentine to improve upon what he already has at his disposal, during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme:
“I think if they can bring in some magical medical people to keep their players fit, that’s all they really need! We all know how strong their squad is. Do they need a back-up for Harry Kane? Llorente has done ok at times, but I think it’s difficult to add to that squad.”
One of Spurs’ key transfer targets this month is PSG ace Lucas Moura, according to the Daily Mail, and if Pochettino does in fact manage to bring the Brazilian to north London, it would surely constitute a successful transfer window for Tottenham.
