Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with Barcelona.
Tottenham Hotspur are going strong in the Premier League at the moment and are likely to end up in the top four yet again. The North London outfit finished third in the league during the 2015-16 campaign and could end up runners-up this season.
While the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been rightly praised for their performances, the importance and influence of manager Mauricio Pochettino cannot be undermined.
Pochettino has been in charge of Tottenham since 2014 and has done a truly remarkable job at White Hart Lane. Under the Argentine, the team have an identity and a number of players are flourishing.
The former Espanyol and Southampton manager is very good and very ambitious, and Spanish giants Barcelona have been linked with him. According to The Express, the European powerhouse want Pochettino to replace Luis Enrique at the end of the season.
Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has given his take on the situation. The former England international said on the Premier League Daily show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, February 20, 2016): “If you have got a good manager, he is going to be attracted to the big clubs, isn’t he? There is no way around that.
“You have just got to make sure that he is happy, that he has got the working environment that he wants, that he has got the contract that he wants because that’s important.”
