West Ham United travel to Swansea City for a crucial relegation six-pointer on Saturday.
West Ham had turned a corner under David Moyes and reached the 30 point mark with a 2-0 win over Watford last month.
But a heavy 4-1 defeat to Liverpool last time out makes things hairy again for the Hammers in the increasingly congested Premier League dogfight.
The East Londoners are now just three points off Saturday’s opponents in the relegation zone.
There are big incentives for both teams ahead of the crucial clash. Carlos Carvalhal’s resurgent side can move level on points with the Hammers going into the run-in while West Ham can put a six-point gap between the two sides ahead of back-to-back home games against Burnley and Southampton.
But former tough tackling Premier League star and Dutch international George Boateng told Sky Sports Daily he feels West Ham have more than enough to stay up comfortably.
“Two weeks ago I would have gone for Swansea to win but at the moment I fancy West Ham,” Boateng told Sky Sports Daily.
“(Manuel) Lanzini, (Marko) Arnautovic fit, Patrice Evra is (there), I fancy them really well in this game.
“I think West Ham have got quite a decent team, the problem they had was the fact they had a couple of players out injured and then they couldn’t win games.
“But with Arnautovic coming back, Lanzini, (Joao) Mario is there, they brought in Evra which again I think is a good signing on a free transfer.
“I don’t fear so much for West Ham under David Moyes.
“He will tell you different that he won’t commit until he knows what division they will be playing next year but… I don’t think West Ham will go down.”
