Tottenham Hotspur have managed to compete with their more wealthy rivals.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville offered high praise for Spurs, and the way win which they go about their business, suggesting that they overachieve in comparison to the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United, when speaking on his official Podcast for Sky Sports.

Tottenham have really got their season back on track in recent weeks, winning five out of their last six games, after a poor run in the league saw them fall well behind league leaders Chelsea.

They now sit 10 points behind Conte’s men, and are set to welcome the Blues to White Hart Lane on Wednesday night, in a game that could prove to have a huge bearing on the destination of the league title.

And Neville discussed Spurs’ season so far, when speaking on his official Podcast for Sky Sports:

“I think they overachieve, in terms of the budget they have. They spend of course, but not to the level of Manchester United or City.”

One of Tottenham fans’ main gripes is that their club do not spend enough money to compete with their rivals.

The problem for the Spurs hierarchy is that the expectation levels of their fans are at such a level now whereby a top-four finish is not all they strive for anymore.

To win the league title they probably need at least one more big money signing, but what they have done, up until now under Mauricio Pochettino, is highly commendable.
