Don Goodman is tipping Sheffield Wednesday for another promotion push.

Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has told The Mirror that he thinks Sheffield Wednesday will ‘definitely’ finish in the top eight again this season.
The Owls enjoyed a superb first season under Carlos Carvalhal last term, reaching the play-off final at Wembley back in May, only to lose out to Hull City, missing out on a Premier League return in the process.

Carvalhal re-tooled his squad this summer with the additions of Jake Kean, Almen Abdi, Will Buckley and Steven Fletcher, and with key players staying at the club, it looks like another strong Wednesday side.
Today, the Owls play their first game of the Championship season as they host relegated Aston Villa at Hillsborough, and a win would certainly give fans added confidence that another promotion push is around the corner.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri
Given the money spent by owner Dejphon Chansiri, Wednesday will be expected to match last season’s top six finish – and Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes the Owls will enjoy another fine season.
Speaking to The Mirror, Goodman made a confident prediction that Wednesday will ‘definitely’ finish in the top eight of the Championship this season, but suggested that anything further will depend on the performances of ‘imports’ – most likely meaning new signings in general, as all of Wednesday’s additions have arrived from English clubs.

Goodman also noted that Italian playmaker Fernando Forestieri is Wednesday’s player to watch as he can create something out of nothing, whilst stating that Forestieri’s former Watford team-mate Almen Abdi is Wednesday’s key signing of the summer, potentially due to that link-up with Forestieri.
“Exciting times at Hillsborough following a disappointing end to last term,” said Goodman. “Top eight, definitely. Where they will finish depends on how quickly these imports gel,” he added.
