West Ham United are currently deeply entrenched in a relegation battle.

When speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme at 10:44am on Thursday April 6th, Sky Sports pundit Alan McInally delivered a damning verdict on the Hammers’ hopes of avoiding relegation to the Championship this season.
West Ham’s defeat to the Gunners last night has left Slaven Bilic’s men languishing in 15th position in the Premier League table, just five points clear of Swansea City in 18th spot.
The East London outfit play host to the Welsh side on Saturday, in a game that could have huge ramifications with regards to the fight for survival.
McInally though, believes the Hammers are in real trouble, and explained how their is a visible lack of fight currently present at the club, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme:
“I feel sorry for him (Bilic) a little bit. He’s had a couple of injuries. I was just under-awed about the whole thing (the defeat to Arsenal). They’re in a real dog-fight, and I didn’t see it (any fight). I think they’re absolutely staring down the barrel, I really do. I didn’t see West Ham have a go at Arsenal last night, and Bilic will be hugely frustrated with them this morning.”

Last season’s seventh placed finish is what makes the team’s abysmal efforts this term all the harder to stomach for West Ham fans.
Something has got to change, and quick, if Bilic is to guide the Hammers away from safety. A victory over the Swans at the weekend would increase the gap between themselves and the relegation zone to eight points, with just six league games remaining.
And maybe then they will be able to finally relax, and play without any pressure or fear during the closing stages of the season.
