The Celtic manager is struggling to guide his side to any form of success in Europe.

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas had harsh words for the Hoops setup last night, when speaking to Sky Sports, suggesting that Brendan Rodgers might become bored at the club, if he is not offered the appropriate financial backing by the board.
Rodgers has worked wonders during his time in charge at Parkhead, guiding his Celtic side to an unprecedented unbeaten domestic campaign last season, and securing a glorious treble in the process.
Making any kind of progress whatsoever in Europe has been a different kettle of fish for the Hoops boss, however, with a huge gulf in class clearly evident when his side have squared up against some of the continent’s most elite clubs.

And Nicholas delivered a stark warning to Celtic, suggesting that Rodgers could very well become bored in his role as Hoops boss, should he fail to receive the backing required to take the club forward, when speaking to Sky Sports:
“Can they get to that top level? You can if you build the right way. But I don’t know if Brendan will stick around long enough to build the right way because he will eventually get bored of the domestic scene. If they don’t give him extra money – and I’m not talking about consistently spending about £7million or £8million on players because they can’t go any higher than that. But to maybe break the barrier for wages on one or two.”

The former Liverpool and Swansea City boss has undoubtedly proven his pedigree during his time in charge at Parkhead, and there will be no shortage of potential suitors for him, should he call time on his Celtic career.
