Kaveh Solhekol has told Sky Sports News that he has been told that Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has been making a bad situation worse in trying to atone for his error.
Arsenal announced their intentions to join the Super League on Sunday, but may have underestimated the backlash.
Supporters, players and rival clubs all spoke up against the plans to create a new competition and Arsenal swiftly withdraw from the Super League, alongside every other English club on Tuesday evening.
Venkatesham is now desperately trying to restore relations with the rest of the Premier League clubs.
However, the Arsenal chief’s attempts may not be working, according to Solhekol.
He said: “I don’t think what Arsenal have been trying to do in regards to mending broken relationships with the other clubs has been going too well.
“Their chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has confirmed that he has telephoned all the other 14 clubs to apologise.

“But one of the executives at a club who he has spoken to has told me that ‘Vinai is making a bad situation worse’.
“And one chief executive gave Vinai a tongue lashing and told him that Arsenal’s behaviour has been absolutely disgraceful.”
Venkatesham’s job at Arsenal could indeed be under threat after the Super League proposal.
The Premier League is still working out punishments, but it is thought that they will target individuals rather than hand out points deductions for clubs.
