Liverpool may be quiet on deadline day, but it seems that some Premier League clubs are eyeing up moves for Divock Origi today.
Reporter Dharmesh Sheth was live on Sky Sports last night (August 30, 7:25pm) when he spoke about Origi’s future.
Sheth claimed he has been told that ‘a few’ Premier League clubs are ready to make a move for Origi on the final day of the transfer window.
The catch is that Liverpool will only consider permanent deals for Origi, and will not sanction his loan exit as things stand.
Another issue is that Liverpool may not want to let Origi leave so close to the deadline, having little time to replace him having actually told Origi’s representatives that they could leave much earlier in the window.
“I’m told tonight there could be a few Premier League clubs ready to make a move for Origi on deadline day. But we’re also told Liverpool will not be loaning him, they will only entertain permanent offers,” said Sheth.
“Having said that, Liverpool would have to seriously consider if they would allow Origi to leave this late in the window. His representatives were told a move could have been sanctioned earlier in the window because Liverpool would have had enough time to look at the rest of their squad. Since then, there haven’t been any suitable offer for Origi and Shaqiri has since left Liverpool,” he added.
The Telegraph reported on Monday that West Ham United are monitoring Origi’s situation closely as they plot a potential move.

Michail Antonio does need some support in attack, and Origi could come in to give David Moyes another goalscoring threat as he looks to juggle Premier League and Europa League commitments.
Origi has now spent seven years as a Liverpool player having signed from Lille in 2014, but he didn’t manage a single Premier League goal last term.
At 26, Origi needs to be playing somewhere. He hasn’t played a single minute of first-team action this season, and that’s just not good enough.
Don’t expect any incomings for Liverpool today, but Origi is the main name to watch in terms of a potential outgoing.
