Speaking on Sky Sports News (31/8/21 12:14PM), reporter Jo Wilson has delivered a deadline day update on Leeds’ Helder Costa.
It had been reported elsewhere that the winger is up for grabs on the final day of the transfer window, and the Sky reporter is now led to believe that there is interest from Spain.
Indeed, Wilson says that Valencia have enquired about signing Costa.
What’s been said?
According to Sky, Valencia are in for Wilson.
“Finally for now, Valencia have enquired about signing Helder Costa from Leeds United. The Portuguese forward is likely to fall down the pecking order at Elland Road with the imminent arrival of Daniel James from Manchester United,” Wilson said.

Not needed
If Valencia want Costa then Leeds United should let him go.
Think about it, Daniel James’ arrival means that the right-wing spot is very congested, and with the likes of Raphinha and Crysencio Summerville already at the club, it may be time for Costa to move on.
The Portuguese winger hasn’t quite lived up to expectations at Elland Road, but he did help the Whites towards promotion back in 2019/20, so he’s proven to be value for money in that sense.
This looks like a situation to keep an eye on as we get closer to that 11PM deadline.
