Aston Villa aren’t going to find a replacement for John Terry despite his departure, according to a report.
Sky Sports have claimed that with assistant head coaches Craig Shakespeare and Richard O’Kelly already on board behind Dean Smith, Villa have no intention of replacing Terry in the dugout, for the time being anyway.
On Monday, Villa announced that Terry has left the Midlands giants as he looks to pursue a career in management.
The Chelsea legend initially joined Villa as a player when they were in the Championship and helped them to a play-off final.
But defeat against Fulham, and financial woe for the club, saw him depart only to be brought back many months later to work alongside Dean Smith as a coach.
From then on, Villa have been on the up, winning promotion, maintaining their Premier League status and progressing once again last season.
Whilst Villa’s defence was shaky, error-prone and problematic during their first season back in England’s top-flight.
It improved in an incredible fashion last season, with Smith’s side securing 15 clean sheets on their way to an 11th-placed finish.
Terry worked a lot with the individual players in B6, with Tyrone Mings becoming an England international, Matt Targett winning the Players’ Player of the Year last season, Matty Cashy having a stellar debut campaign and Ezri Konsa perhaps being the club’s best defensive player.

It won’t be too long before Konsa is sharing the St George’s Park pitch alongside Mings and Grealish.
And if he does then Terry has played his part in the player becoming one of the best defenders in the league.
