Tim Sherwood has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur would make a mistake if they sell Dele Alli, and has used the examples of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne to make his point.

The former Tottenham manager has pointed out how current Spurs boss Jose Mourinho did not make proper use of Salah and De Bruyne when he worked with them at Chelsea.

Liverpool forward Salah and City midfielder De Bruyne are now two of the best players in the world.

According to The Telegraph, French giants Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Alli on loan from Tottenham before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.

Sherwood told Sky Sports about Alli: “Jose has not always got it right in regard to seeing if a player can make it or not. Mo Salah springs to mind, Kevin De Bruyne springs to mind. They had to go somewhere else to prove him wrong.

“I think he (Alli) will do that. The last thing they want to do, Tottenham, if they let him go to a top club like PSG where rumours about him maybe going on loan there. He will absolutely rip it up there and score.”

Tottenham Hotspur should keep Dele Alli

Alli is a very good midfielder who can play a big role for Tottenham this season, with the team aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table and also playing in the Europa League.

True, the 24-year-old has not progressed a lot in recent months, but Spurs should give him at least another season and see if he gets back to his best.
