Clinton Morrison told Soccer Saturday (09/01/21 at 2:35 pm) that he expects Dele Alli and Carlos Vinicius to start for Tottenham as they take on non-league Marine in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The former Crystal Palace striker admitted that he will be ‘surprised’ if Jose Mourinho plays his deadly duo of Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane today.

Even though this is a tough task for Marine, even their players would love Tottenham’s best to be out on the field so they can get a taste of what it’s like coming up against some of the world’s best.

If Mourinho does play his back-up players, they are still of a high-quality and Morrison thinks Alli and Vinicius will be in that starting XI.

“I don’t think you will see his strongest XI,” said Morrison. “But Tottenham’s squad is big enough. The likes of Dele Alli. He’s come out already and said Gareth Bale will be fit and he wants to go to Marine and play.

“They will still have a strong enough team to put out. It’s a chance for them to impress. They should be impressing from the standard and the levels that they are at.

“But I cannot see him playing his strongest XI. No chance. No Harry Kane and no Son play. But you know what I could be wrong because he has surprised me numerous times this season.

“But I think the likes of Dele Alli and Vinicius upfront. They will get their opportunities.”

On paper, this is a breeze for Spurs but there are certain players in that squad that have a point to prove.

Both Alli and Vinicius are two of the players, as the duo have only played 89 minutes of Premier League football this term.

With Vinicius it’s still a case of him settling in, whilst Alli is seemingly trying to prove that he can get back to his best.
