Paul Merson suggested on Sky Sports News (2pm, November 28, 2020) that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should play Bukayo Saka further up the pitch.
Saka is a very versatile footballer who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger.
The 19-year-old has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Arsenal so far this season, according to WhoScored.
According to WhoScored, the England international has played most of the matches this season as a left wing-back.
Former Arsenal star Merson, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Arteta should play the youngster further up the pitch.
Merson said about Saka on Sky Sports News (2pm, November 28, 2020): “I personally think he should be playing further up the pitch, Saka. I think he is a bit wasted out as a wing-back. I think he is a talented footballer who could play further up the pitch.”

Saka is a very good young and promising player, and his versatility is a boon to Arsenal.
The teenager’s pace would come in handy for Arsenal if he plays as a left winger, but Arteta has been using Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the left of the three front three this season.
If Aubameyang is played down the middle, then there could be space for Saka on the left.
