Andy Hinchcliffe said on The Football Show on Sky Sports Football (9:10am, June 2, 2020) that Philippe Coutinho will be under a lot of pressure if he joins Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

The former Manchester City left-back, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the former Liverpool attacking midfielder will be a marquee signing for Newcastle, and that he will have to carry the Magpies.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle are interested in signing the Brazil international, who can also operate as a winger and is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are hoping to buy the Magpies from current owner Mike Ashley, as reported by The Times.

Hinchcliffe said on The Football Show on Sky Sports Football (9:10am, June 2, 2020): “The pressure on Coutinho going to Newcastle would be probably greater than any other club. He will be expected to carry that club forward.”

Blockbuster signing for Newcastle United

Coutinho may not have been a huge success at Barcelona or at Bayern, but the Brazilian is one of the best attack-minded players in the world.

The 27-year-old former Inter Milan man would be a stunning and blockbuster signing for Newcastle, and he would make the team so much better with his creativity, vision and playing style.
