Jamie Mackie told Sky Sports News (27/03/21 at 2:50 pm) that he feels reported Arsenal and Leeds striker, Ivan Toney, is Premier League bound next season.
The former QPR winger labelled the red-hot Brentford hitman as ‘fantastic’ after his rise from League One into the Championship and now potentially into England’s top-flight.
TeamTalk have previously claimed that the likes of Arsenal, Leeds and Wolves are keen on the 28-goal hitman for when the summer transfer window re-opens.
And Mackie thinks it’s only a matter of time before Toney is pitting his talents amongst some of the best.
“Ivan Toney speaks for himself in what he has gone on and done,” said Mackie.
“He is a fantastic player. He will probably find himself in the Premier League and kick on again next season.
“I am sure Barry Fry (Peterborough director) will be happy with that. A little bit of a sell-on for the club.”

Toney only has to look at the last player who donned the Brentford number nine shirt and where he is now.
Even though Brentford missed out on promotion last season, Ollie Watkins outstanding season in front of goal was rewarded with Aston Villa putting money on the table for his services, and fast forward to today, and he’s now an England international.
It’s proof that taking that seemingly expensive punt on a lower league player, whether you are Leeds or Arsenal, is worth doing because the rewards can be pretty fulfilling.
Both Leeds and Arsenal could do with added attacking talent next season, on top of what they already have and making sure they are starting to build a team going forward rather than one that is just standing still.
And starting with someone of the arrogance and calmness of Toney would be a pretty smart move, as those in the Villa Park boardroom are finding out with Watkins.
