Gabriel Agbonlahor seemingly criticised Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford on Sky Sports News (11:51am, November 8, 2020).
The former Aston Villa striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Bamford should not have put his arm out to signal to Mateusz Klich where to play the ball against Crystal Palace.
In the first half of the Premier League game at Selhurst Park in London on Saturday afternoon, Bamford had a goal controversially ruled out because of offside.
Poland international midfielder Klich played the striker through, but VAR decided that Bamford’s arm was in an offside position.
The former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker was actually pointing where Klich should play the pass.
While Agbonlahor believes that the goal should have been given, he seems to be critical of Bamford for not trusting his Leeds teammate.
Agbonlahor said on Sky Sports News (11:51am, November 8, 2020): “That’s the thing for me. If you look back at the replay, he didn’t even have to put his hand up. The pass was going to come through.
“For him to try to be like this great player who is asking for the ball in the right areas, he has been given a goal taken away from him.
“If he had just trusted his teammate and not put his hand up, the goal would have been given. It’s ridiculous, and it (the goal) definitely should have been given. 100%.”

While Agbonlahor thinks that the goal should have stood, as will most football followers, the Sky Sports pundit is being a bit harsh on the striker.
It probably came naturally to Bamford to point where he wanted the ball, and he is not the only striker in the world who does it.
