Leeds United were involved in yet another entertaining goal-fest at the weekend, this time against Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough.

For the second time in a few days, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United conceded an early goal at Elland Road.

But as they did against Swansea City, it wasn’t too long before the goals were going in for the home team and Leeds were showcasing their attacking might.

Three attacking players who are currently struggling to start games for Daniel Farke’s side are Jaidon Anthony, Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford.

But, according to former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson, those three players are good enough for the Premier League, as he told Sky Sports News (02/12/23 at 5:55 pm).

Perhaps that shows the quality Leeds have within their ranks as they bid to make an instant return to the Premier League.

Leeds United’s bench strength

“The quality showed in the second half (from Leeds), the game calmed down,” said Dawson.

“The players that came on for Leeds. Anthony, Patrick Bamford and Gnonto. They were the three changes.

“That’s not bad for the Championship. They would be good in the Premier League.”

Will Leeds United make a return to the Premier League?

One thing is for sure, there are plenty of goals in the team to keep the likes of Ipswich Town and Leicester City worried.

The only issue for the Whites is that the top two themselves are scoring goals for fun.

It needs to be noted that Farke was appointed just before pre-season could start following the club’s relegation.

Then he had to deal with players leaving or wanting to leave when the summer transfer window was open.

Now that all of that is out of the way, the Yorkshire side are really stepping up and showing strong signs that they can make an instant return to the Premier League.
