Kris Boyd has told Sky Sports that Rangers would win 4-0 every week if they had Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard starting up-front for them.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side are still unbeaten in the league this season, with Celtic simply not able to keep pace with them.

Alfredo Morelos has led the line well for Rangers, scoring 11 goals in 26 Scottish Premiership matches.

However, Celtic front-man Edouard has eclipsed that total, even in a struggling Bhoys side.

And Boyd suggests that if Edouard played for Rangers then they would be even more dominant.

“There is no getting away from the fact Odsonne Edouard is the best striker in the league,” Boyd said.

“I’d always have the top goal scorer in my team. What Alfredo Morelos does for Rangers is brilliant but if Edouard was in that team, Rangers would be beating teams 3-0 or 4-0 every week.”

It is hard to argue with the claim that Edouard is the best striker in Scotland right now.

Edouard leads the Scottish Premiership scoring charts, while Morelos has actually been matched for goals by Rangers right-back James Tavernier this season.

The worry for Celtic is that they may not be able to hold on to Edouard for much longer, though.

The French forward is strongly linked with a move away, and if he does leave their task of catching Rangers next season will surely become considerably more difficult.
