Jamie Carragher has admitted to Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that he is worried about Roberto Firmino now.
Firmino has not been in great scoring form this campaign, with the Brazilian taking on board great criticism during Liverpool’s dip in form.
The Reds have now failed to score as a team in any of their last three games, which has really highlighted Firmino’s struggles in front of goal.
And Carragher admits that he is becoming concerned about Firmino’s form now, as he feels the striker hasn’t been at his best, even during their title season.
“I must say I’m worried for Firmino. He’s never been seen as the goalscorer, that’s the responsibility of the other two, but he’s there to chip in,” he said.
“When they’re not scoring I just feel he needs to be a bigger goal threat.
His ability to bring players into the game has dropped off and also his counter press has dropped off and not just this season, I’m going back to last season and I was worried then.”

Carragher’s concerns are understandable as Firmino has just five league goals to his name this term.
Liverpool’s attack just hasn’t clicked in recent weeks, and that has caused a real slump in their form.
Firmino hasn’t exactly been missing gilt-edged chances, but that in itself is a worry, as he doesn’t seem to be getting into the right positions to score enough regularly.
Firmino’s place up-front could come under pressure soon, as the Athletic say that Diogo Jota is due to return from injury in the near future.
