Jamie Redknapp spoke highly of Arsenal central defender Gabriel on Sky Sports Premier League (7:22pm, November 1, 2020) following his performance against Manchester United on Sunday evening.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder was impressed by the display produced by Gabriel during Arsenal’s 1-0 win against United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The Sky Sports pundit said that the 22-year-old, signed from Lille in the summer transfer window, “looks like a real deal”, but he admitted that he was worried after he got an early yellow card.
Redknapp said about Gabriel on Sky Sports Premier League (7:22pm, November 1, 2020): “He wants to win challenges. He got booked early in the game, but I think he still kept his composure, made good tackles. I like the way that he is aggressive. He wants to win the ball, he is composed as well. He just looks like a real deal.”
The Englishman added: “I was very, very impressed with him today. That (a challenge) was after he got booked. He made a couple of challenges, and I was thinking, ‘Just be careful. You don’t want to leave your team with 10 men’. But no, very impressed with him today.”
