Jamie O’Hara told Sky Sports News Wednesday afternoon that it’s ‘amazing’ that Tottenham are in talks to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager.

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has claimed on Wednesday that Tottenham are pressing to bring Conte to the club.

The ex-Chelsea boss recently won Serie A with Inter, only to leave days later because of a disagreement with the club’s board, but it seems to have worked in Tottenham’s favour.

And as the news broke about Tottenham starting talks with Conte, O’Hara reacted to the news.

“I think it’s great news,” said O’Hara. “I think it’s amazing news. He was my number one choice that we should have gone for.

“People said I was mad thinking he would leave Inter after winning the league in Italy. Such a successful manager.

“There has been a lot of talk about Pochettino, but for me, Antonio Conte is a class act. He’s a winner. I would absolutely love to see him at Tottenham.”

Conte is a highly demanding coach, with a big emphasis on defence, winning trophies wherever he has gone, including at Chelsea. Remind you of anyone?

Spurs fans will be hoping for different results under Conte, if he’s appointed, after that failed Jose Mourinho reign and it starts with trying to get the club back into the Champions League.

When Conte took over at Chelsea, they had just finished tenth, but he still managed to claw them towards the title, so it just goes to show how far he can push a squad of players.

Plus, it needs to be remembered, the Italian didn’t splash the cash, or have a lots superstar players at his disposal

He did the business with players that were previously unfancied like Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso.
