Clinton Morrison said on Sky Sports News (12:09pm, February 6, 2021) that Aston Villa could have a problem if Ollie Watkins gets injured.
The former Crystal Palace and Birmingham City forward, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that there is no one at Villa to step in if Watkins suffers an injury.
Morrison added that Wesley was not really a hit for the Villans before he got injured.
Brazilian striker Wesley ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) against Burnley in January 2020 and has not been in action since.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old scored five goals and provided one assist in 21 Premier League matches for Villa before his injury.
Morrison said on Sky Sports News (12:09pm, February 6, 2021): “The only thing I worry about with Aston Villa is if Watkins picks up an injury, who is the centre-forward that can go in there? I know Wesley is on the way back, but he wasn’t really delivering before his injury.”
Staying positive
Villa are doing well at the moment, and Watkins is playing brilliantly, and fans will hope that he does not get injured.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old striker has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 21 Premier League games for the Villans this season.
Villa are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 35 points from 21 matches, five points behind fourth-placed and defending English champions Liverpool.
