Sky pundit Andy Hinchliffe has praised Dan Burn for his well-taken opener for Newcastle United in their 2-0 win against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
While Newcastle were dominating proceedings against Leicester, the scores were surprisingly tied at 0-0.
Until the 60th minute, where Burn played a crisp one-two with Joelinton before slotting the ball past Dan Burn into the back of the net.
And that too, with his weaker right foot.
The former Brighton defender has already impressed in a Newcastle shirt by shining in an unnatural position at left-back.
While Dan Burn was often employed in the role by now-Chelsea boss Graham Potter, it still remains a surprise that the towering centre-half is an unorthodox, yet reliable option as a full-back.
If that was not surprising enough in the first place, Dan Burn has now stepped up with a vital goal against Leicester to book Eddie Howe and Co’s place in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
And heart-warmingly enough, the boyhood Magpies supporter ended up scoring his first-ever goal for the club on such a big occasion.
Unsurprisingly and yet deservedly, a Sky pundit has given the £52,000-a-week colossus his due credit.
Sky pundit raves about Dan Burn winner for Newcastle vs Leicester in Carabao Cup quarter-final

Sky pundit Andy Hinchliffe credited Dan Burn for his goal for Newcastle United in their 2-0 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
“It’s the most unlikely goalscorer but the finish is absolutely superb. Placement, precision”, the pundit told Sky Sports.
The Sky pundit is bang on the money, as Dan Burn scoring the winner for Newcastle United is an anomaly in the first place.
But how brilliant the finish was would make one thing at first glance that Callum Wilson or Alexander Isak was the man who put the Magpies in front against Leicester.
