Stephen Warnock has praised Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt on Twitter.

The former Leeds defender, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the 18-year-old forward has a bright future ahead.

Warnock was impressed with the goal that the youngster scored for the Leeds Under-23 side in the win against their Crystal Palace counterparts at Thorp Arch in Premier League 2 on Sunday.

In the 57th minute, Gelhardt, signed from Wigan Athletic in the summer transfer window, received the ball outside the Palace penalty box, controlled it brilliantly, went past a couple of defenders, and slotted it home with ease.

It was the youngster’s second goal of the match. The forward had scored from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time.

Meanwhile, former West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has praised Leeds.

The former Stoke City and Middlesbrough boss has raved about Marcelo Bielsa’s playing style, and has said that everyone he has spoken to wants to watch the Whites play.

Pulis said on Sky Sports News (1:34pm, October 31, 2020), as transcribed by Leeds Live: “It’s lovely to watch and I really, really enjoy it. You have teams that you watch, you can’t work out what they’re trying to do.

“Leeds United have an identity. You can see it in them. The belief that they have at the moment is absolutely first class.

“The principles that he wants from his players is absolutely first class. It’s been refreshing for me and for everybody I’ve we’ve spoken to, they want to watch Leeds play.”

Leeds will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Leicester City in the Premier League.
