Alan Smith has raved about Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe to Sky Sports.
The former Arsenal striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has disclosed what people at the club have been saying about Smith Rowe.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is enjoying a breakthrough season at Arsenal and has started to play regular first-team football.
According to WhoScored, the England Under-20 international has provided one assist in two Premier League matches and has scored one goal and provided two assists in 120 minutes in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this season.
Smith told Sky Sports: “I’m a big fan of Emile Smith Rowe. He’s come into the Arsenal first team in the last few games and I’d heard people within Arsenal saying what a good player they thought he was and he had a real chance.
“He’s done his stints on loan at Leipzig and Huddersfield which will have toughened him up and you can see he’s a strong player and he has got that creative bent that Arsenal need.
“He’ll play a big part from now until the end of the season and help Arsenal up the table. He’s got a really good attitude and wants to do well and improve. He’s got lots of talent.”
Big talent
Smith Rowe is only 20 years of age and is far from the finished article, but the youngster is showing some very promising signs.
The youngster does not seem to be fazed by anything and looks very lively on the pitch, and Arsenal do seem to have a gem on their hands.
There is a long way to go for Smith Rowe, but maybe he could be Mesut Ozil’s successor at Arsenal and could be a big player for the club in years to come.
