LONDON, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 18: Gareth Bale of Tottenham Hotspur warms up ahead of the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 18, 2020 in London, England. Tom Huddlestone has told Stadium Astro that Gareth Bale has the ‘full repertoire’ to also play the role Harry Kane has been playing for Tottenham recently.

England’s deadly striker has turned into a light-touched visionary playmaker this season and Heung-Min Son has benefited from Kane threading through balls at will during the early parts of this unique campaign.

The duo have formed a quite deadly partnership in the final third, and aside from that ten-minute capitulation against West Ham, they showcased that once again during their 3-3 draw against their rivals on Sunday.

But free-agent and Sky Sports pundit, Huddlestone, who played with Bale during his early years at Spurs, thinks he can also match Kane in playing that playmaker/striker role for his club as well.

“He has got the full repertoire, technically,” Huddlestone told Stadium Astro. “A lot of left-footed players aren’t comfortable with their right but Gareth’s right foot is solid as well.

“If he wanted to play the slightly deeper role, as Harry Kane was doing first half [against West Ham], then he would have no issues picking up the ball in a more defensive midfield position. But equally being able to spray the ball about the pitch and pick passes from deep.

“He only had a few instances [against West Ham], but him and Kane seem to strike up a decent partnership as well.”

Bale’s return over the weekend was ruined by that stunning comeback by the Hammers, but Jose Mourinho won’t be too disheartened by what he is seeing from his players.

That type of comeback isn’t the norm, but what Kane and Son were producing in the first half is and adding Bale to that mix will only make them even more dangerous.

But the fact that Mourinho has three players at his disposal – Son, Kane & Bale – who can play such a variety of roles across the front three and in that number 10 position, it does make his job that little easier.
